Itinerary

Saturday, Day 1:

Arrive in Laredo, TX. If you are trailering, be there by 2:00pm. You will need time to rent a storage place for your vehicle.

Sunday, Day 2:

Arrive at meeting place 8:00am, with both you and your bike fueled and ready to ride. We will cross the border and obtain visas and vehicle permits. Then we will have about a three hour ride to our first stop for the night, Saltillo. This will be our most casual day, we will have plenty of time.

Monday, Day 3:

Rise early for breakfast and depart around 9:00am. This will be a long day, about a 6 to 8 hour ride. We will arrive at our second stop in the afternoon, Durango. You will have the day to do a little sight seeing and a lot of resting in preparation for the Devil's Backbone.

Tuesday, Day 4:

Rise early for breakfast, the hotel restaurant opens at 7:00am. We will depart around 9:00am. In 2004, I made the mistake of crossing the mountains too early and it was unusually cold. I had to stop at a gas station for 1 1/2 hours to thaw out. This will be a 7 to 8 hour ride over the mountains. This is a beautiful ride, but you have to be on your toes. We will arrive in Mazatlan in the early evening.

Wednesday - Saturday, Days 5 - 8:

This will be your time to have fun in Mazatlan. Mazatlan is a beach town and there are many things to do related to the water, many water sports. It also has many beautiful monuments and a lot of history.

Semana de la Moto (Bike Week) begins Wednesday and ends Saturday. The real action is on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday.

Sunday, Day 9:

Depart Mazatlan about 9:00am and cross the mountains heading back north. This will be a 7 to 8 hour day.

Monday, Day 10:

This will be a 6 to 8 hour day. Rise early for breakfast and get on the road by 10:00am.

Tuesday, Day 11:

Rise early and get on the road by 9:00am . Our goal is to reach Laredo, TX early this day. We will cancel our visas and vehicle permits and cross the border. This will be the end of the tour.
